Look for them holding around pads, matted grass, and any sunken wood or overhanging brush along the banks. Because there's no tide to plan around, focus on light and temperature instead: early morning and late evening are prime, especially when there's a light breeze pushing bait and debris into a pocket of cover. Midday in summer heat, slide your casts into shaded pockets under overhanging vegetation where snakehead stack up to cool off.

Shore access here is workable — there's mapped parking nearby, with the closest spot about 0.35 mi from the water, so a short walk gets you streamside. If you'd rather cover more water from a kayak or small boat, there's a ramp mapped roughly 1.59 mi out, which opens up stretches of the creek that bank anglers can't easily reach.

For tactics, keep it simple and weedless. Walk a hollow-body frog or buzzbait right over the matted grass and pads, and don't be afraid of a heavy pause — snakehead often crush topwater on the drop after the strike. Chatterbaits and weedless soft plastics worked along wood edges also draw reaction bites. Spool up with 40-65 lb braid to horse them out of cover before they wrap you up.
