Ditch at Plantation Community Center

This little canal behind the Plantation Community Center is a classic bullseye snakehead spot — narrow, quiet, non-tidal water that just sits there and lets these fish set up shop in the cover. Look for them tucked against any grass edges, matted pads, and laydown wood along the banks. Snakehead here don't move much with any current since there isn't any, so it's really about light and temperature pushing them shallow or pulling them back to shade. Early morning and last light are prime, with fish sliding up onto wind-blown grass lines to ambush. Midday in the heat, slide your presentations tighter to shade lines and thicker cover where they hole up.

Access is bank-focused. There's mapped parking close by, the nearest spot only about 0.13 mi from the water, so it's an easy walk-and-cast situation. No boat ramp shows up within about 3 miles, so this is a shore or kayak-carry pond, not a trailer-and-launch spot — plan accordingly if you're bringing a yak.

Gear up heavy for the cover: 40-65 lb braid, weedless soft plastics, and weedless topwater frogs worked slow through the pads. Buzzbaits and chatterbaits fished along grass edges and wood draw the reaction strikes that make this little ditch worth the walk.
