East-west canal is classic non-tidal snakehead water, so the fish set up shop rather than moving with a moving tide. Look for them holding tight to whatever cover breaks up that straight canal bank—matted grass, lily pads, laydowns, and any shady wood along the edges. Bullseyes will sit under that cover ambushing baitfish and gulping air at the surface, so watch for the rings and swirls that give them away, especially where wind has pushed slop and pads into a pocket.

Since there's no tide to plan around, think in terms of light and temperature instead. Dawn and dusk are prime, when snakehead push shallow and get aggressive on top. Through the hot middle of the day, shift your focus to any shaded stretches or deeper edges where fish slide out of direct sun, and keep an eye on wind-blown banks where current and food collect against the cover.

Access here is straightforward: shore fishing works well, with mapped parking about 0.6 mi from the water, close enough for a rod-in-hand walk-and-cast approach along the bank. If you'd rather cover more water or slip a kayak or small boat in, there's a boat ramp mapped roughly 1.23 mi away, which opens up stretches that bank anglers can't easily reach.

Tactics stay simple and snakehead-specific: walk weedless topwater frogs and buzzbaits right across the pads and grass, follow up with a chatterbait or weedless soft plastic worked along the edges of cover, and don't get bashful with tackle—40-65 lb braid is the standard here to horse fish out of thick slop before they wrap you up.
