🎣 Fish the tide, not the clock: snakehead pin bait to the grass on the flood, then feed hard as the falling (ebb) tide drains it out of the cover — the last couple hours of the outgoing into low slack is prime.

Bohemia River fishes like classic Chesapeake snakehead water—slow, tidal, and full of soft cover where these fish like to ambush. Look for snakeheads tucked into lily pads, matted grass, and laydown wood along the shoreline breaks, especially where sun-warmed shallows meet a deeper channel edge. They'll sit motionless under the mats waiting for something to swim or flutter overhead, then crush it.

Since this stretch is tidal (nearest reference station Town Point Wharf, about 5.4 miles off), tide stage matters as much as location. High water pushes snakeheads deep into flooded grass and pad fields where they're nearly untouchable. As the tide starts to ebb, that same cover starts draining, and the fish slide out to the edges of the vegetation and the mouths of little cuts and guts—this falling tide window is when they feed hardest and are most catchable on moving baits.

For access, shore casting is workable with parking mapped nearby, closest around 1.38 miles from the water, so plan for a walk-in approach. If you want to cover more cover-lined bank, a boat ramp is mapped about 1.67 miles off, and a kayak or small boat lets you slip along the pad edges quietly.

Go with 40-65 lb braid so you can horse fish out of grass, throwing weedless topwater frogs and buzzbaits over the mats, along with chatterbaits and weedless soft plastics worked along the drop-offs as the tide falls.
