Focus on the pads, spatterdock, and grass lines that hold fish tight, as well as any laydowns or wood along the banks. Snakehead ambush from these spots, so tight-quarters casting matters more than covering open water.

Because the creek is tidal (nearest NOAA reference at Woolford, Church Creek, 0.9 mi away), tide stage dictates where fish sit. High water pushes them shallow into the flooded grass and pad edges, where they'll sit and wait to smash anything moving overhead. As the tide starts to fall, baitfish and frogs get pulled out of that skinny cover, and snakehead follow — the ebb is when the bite really turns on, with fish stacking near creek mouths and drop-offs where skinny water dumps into deeper channels.

Access here is manageable but not heavily developed. Shore anglers have mapped parking roughly 0.55 mi from the water, while paddlers or small boats can use a ramp about 0.63 mi away — plan your walk-in or launch accordingly.

Tactics stay simple: weedless topwater frogs and buzzbaits worked right over the slop, chatterbaits along grass edges, and weedless soft plastics punched into thicker cover. Spool up with 40-65 lb braid — you'll need it to horse fish out of the vegetation once they eat.
