๐ŸŽฃ Fish the tide, not the clock: snakehead pin bait to the grass on the flood, then feed hard as the falling (ebb) tide drains it out of the cover โ€” the last couple hours of the outgoing into low slack is prime.

Foster Branch fishes like classic snakehead water: a tidal creek where fish tuck into pads, matted grass, and laydown wood along the margins, ambushing anything that swims too close. On calm mornings you'll see them roll or push wakes through the shallows before ducking back under cover. Because it's tidal, water levels swing the fish's mood and position throughout the day. High water lets snakehead push way back into flooded grass and brush, often putting them out of easy casting range. As the tide starts to fall, that cover drains and concentrates baitfish and snakehead along defined edges and creek channels, and that ebbing water is when the bite really turns on โ€” fish get aggressive and predictable, sliding out of the skinny stuff to feed along the drop.

Shore access here is workable, with parking mapped roughly 0.21 mile from the water, close enough for an evening walk-and-cast session. If you want to cover more of the creek's cover and reach the better mid-creek grass lines, a boat ramp about 0.63 mile away lets you launch a kayak or small boat and fish the falling tide properly.

Go weedless: topwater frogs and buzzbaits worked right over the pads and grass draw violent strikes, chatterbaits punch through thinner cover, and weedless soft plastics work when fish get finicky. Spool up with 40-65 lb braid โ€” you'll need it to horse these fish out of the slop.
