Grays Run is small water, and that works in your favor with snakehead — no tide to plan around, just a steady, quiet creek where fish set up shop and stay put. Look for them tucked into pads, matted grass, and laydown wood along the banks. These fish ambush, so any current seam, shady undercut, or wind-blown edge holding bait is worth working slow and methodical. They'll sit tight to cover most of the day but push shallow and get aggressive during low light, so plan your trips around dawn and dusk. On bright, hot afternoons, shift to shaded pockets under overhanging brush where fish slide to escape the sun.

Access here is refreshingly simple. There's mapped parking just off the water, as close as 0.03 mi, so bank fishing is easy — walk up, find a gap in the grass, and start firing casts at visible cover. If you'd rather cover more water, there's a boat ramp mapped about 2.56 mi away, making a kayak or small jon boat a solid option for working the whole run without repositioning by truck.

Tactics stay classic snakehead: weedless frogs and buzzbaits ripped over pads and grass, chatterbaits worked along wood edges, and weedless soft plastics punched into thicker mats. Spool up with 40-65 lb braid — you'll need the muscle to horse them out of cover once they eat.
