Otter Point Creek

Otter Point Creek is classic tidal snakehead water, the kind of skinny, grassy creek these fish were built for. Look for them tucked into lily pads, matted grass, and laydown wood along the shallow edges where they can ambush and still slip into deeper cuts when pressured. On a high tide the fish push way back into the flooded grass and pad fields, sometimes almost invisible in the cover, and they can be tough to draw out. As the tide starts to fall, though, everything changes — baitfish get pulled off the flats and snakehead slide out to the edges of the grass lines and channel drops to intercept them. That falling tide is when the bite really turns on, so plan around the ebb whenever possible; check the Pond Point, Bush River station since it's the closest reference for timing here.

Access-wise, this is a spot where a little legwork or a short paddle pays off. Shore anglers can use parking mapped nearby, closest about 0.54 mi from the water, while boat and kayak anglers have a ramp roughly 0.79 mi away. Either way, working the grass edges on the dropping tide is the move — weedless frogs and buzzbaits worked over the pads, chatterbaits along deeper edges, and weedless soft plastics punched into holes in the mat. Spool up with 40-65 lb braid to horse them out before they wrap you in the salad.
