Look for them tucked into pads, matted grass, and laydown wood along the margins, especially where the creek narrows or bends and slack pockets form behind cover. Snakehead here relate hard to structure, so target the edges of vegetation mats and shaded wood rather than open water.

Since there's no tide to plan around, let light and wind do the work instead. Dawn and dusk are prime, when fish push shallow and up onto the grass edges to feed. Midday in summer heat, slide your presentations into shaded pockets under overhanging brush or thick canopy where fish hold tight. Wind-blown banks stack baitfish and frogs against cover, so don't ignore a breezy shoreline even in bright sun.
