Snakehead here are ambush predators, so focus on any visible cover rather than open water. They'll sit motionless under mats or beside wood until something moves overhead, then explode.

Tide matters a lot on this creek. On the high push, snakehead slide up into the flooded grass and pad fields to hunt the skinny water. As the tide starts to fall, they get pulled off that skinny cover and stack up along the drop into deeper channel edges, points, and mouths of feeder guts — that ebb movement concentrates fish and is when the bite really turns on.
