Walking Fish Pond

Walking Fish Pond is small, quiet water, and that suits snakehead just fine — this is a non-tidal pond, so there's no current or tide swing to plan around, only light, temperature, and cover. Look for them tucked into pads, matted grass, and any laydown wood along the bank, especially where sun-warmed shallows meet a little depth nearby. Snakehead here will cruise the edges of cover on the hunt and hold tight in it when pressured, so working the seams between open water and vegetation pays off.

Since there's no tide to time, lean on low light — first and last hour of daylight are prime — and don't ignore wind-blown banks where bait gets pushed into the grass. Midday heat pushes fish deep into shade under mats or overhanging brush, so slow down and pick those spots apart rather than covering water fast.

Access is bank-and-carry territory. There's no boat ramp mapped within about 3 miles, so this is really a shore or kayak-carry pond — bring a light kayak if you want to reach the far bank cover. Mapped parking sits close, about 0.28 mile from the water, an easy walk in with gear.
